The Jordan River

This drawing is included in the Album
The Jordan River flows from the height of Mount Hermon to the depth of the Dead Sea. The river forms part of the international boundary between Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan and is mentioned in the Bible 175 times. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River.

"And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal. And he spoke unto the children of Israel saying ..let your children know "Israel came over this Jordan." ( Joshua, Chapter 4:20-22).

"And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood to a far off: and they stood by Jordan." ( 2nd Kings, Chapter 2:7).
